Insurance

I am in-network with BCBS, Optum/United Behavioral Health, Cigna and Aetna.

Payment is due at time of service. Health insurance policies are an agreement between you and your insurance company. I encourage you to contact your insurance provider and verify coverage for mental health services.

Some helpful questions to ask your insurance providers regarding services:

Does my insurance cover mental health services?

What is my co-pay?

Do I have a deductible? if so, what is it?

Any other benefits or limits I should know about?

Counseling Fees

Self pay, co-pays, co-insurance, and deductibles are accepted in the following forms:

  • debit, credit, HSA (Health Savings Account)

  • cash

  • check

Please contact the office for questions regarding insurance and fees.

Good Faith Estimates

All my counseling clients have a right to receive a Good Faith Estimate per federal law as of January 1, 2022. A Good Faith Estimate provides the expenses you can reasonably expect to pay for your mental health care services provided by me.

Telemental Health Counseling

What is Telemental Health?

Telemental Health is the use of video and audio technologies to support long-distance services between providers and their clients.

I offer telemental health counseling to individuals residing in North Carolina. If using insurance, I recommend contacting your provider (BCBS, Cigna, Aetna, or United/Optum) to verify telemental health is included with your coverage.

Please know that through this format, our sessions are going to look and sound different than in my office.

Here are some helpful tips before starting our online session:

  • Make sure you are in a quiet space where you won’t be disturbed or heard. This may be in a bedroom, home office, or even in your parked car.

  • If you live with others, ask that they be considerate of your session time and refrain from disruptions.

  • Consider putting a white noise machine, small fan, or speaker with music playing outside of the door to the room you will be in so that roommates or family members cannot overhear your conversation.

  • Make sure the device you are using (a computer, tablet, or smartphone) has a working camera and microphone and is fully charged.

  • Consider using headphones or earbuds plugged into your device to improve sound quality and maintain privacy.

  • Have your child bring paper, crayons/markers and anything else your child would like to have with them during our session.
